Kevin Stefanek, LPC

Meet Kevin Stefanek, LPC

Hi, my name is Kevin and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a master’s degree in counseling

and a doctorate degree in sport psychology. I have been counseling for almost 25 years and am working

on coursework and supervision to become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I provide

counseling to individuals and couples in a safe and supportive environment that allows for people to

explore their goals, overcome the obstacles to achieving those goals, and to live the life they want. One

of my passions in life is to support people on their path to personal growth.

My Therapy Philosophy

No matter what my clients’ goals and obstacles are, I work to take clients to the next level in their personal lives, professional lives, aspirations in their sport, or in their relationships with others. Through attentiveness, curiosity and patience, I will work with you together to understand your current goals and the obstacles and challenges that have led you to the place of seeking support through therapy.

My approach is a combination of positive psychology, humanistic, client-centered, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused, and dialectical behavior modalities. I see myself as a guide or coach who uses empirically supported treatments to help clients discover their own answers and solutions based on their lived experiences. I strive to create a welcoming, peaceful and safe environment for clients to feel comfortable during therapy.

I take a psychoeducational approach to being a counselor/therapist. That education for clients tends to take place in the realms of learning about oneself and learning skills that will either help cope with unwanted emotions or help with personal productivity.

You are the expert on you, and I can help guide you through the process of developing the skills you need to live the life you want. It is courageous to make the choice towards improving your health and well-being. I would be pleased to take further steps with you along your journey.
