Meet Morgan Flaherty, LPCC
Hello and welcome! My name is Morgan and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling in 2021 and received my Clinical Counseling license in November of 2023. I was born and raised in Duluth, and have always been grateful to call this home. During my free time I try to spend as much time outside and by the water during the warmer months.
My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment as you engage in the therapeutic process. I believe the most important aspect of healing is having a reliable, safe, and trusted relationship with your therapist. I strive to make that a priority in our very first appointment. Alongside building a strong therapeutic alliance, I hope to be a force of empowerment and strength while navigating life’s most difficult challenges.

My Therapy Philosophy
I work with adults ages 18+. My specialty is working with individuals between the ages of 18-50 working through a variety of presenting stressors. I have a special interest working with grief/bereavement and loss. Grief is a part of everyone’s life, and I believe it is important to have your feelings be witnessed and validated during the most sensitive stages of acute loss.
I also have experience and training in working with trauma. I utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as a route towards treatment with clients that have faced trauma inducing circumstances. ART uses eye movements to voluntarily replace stressful images to make them appear less threatening to the brain. I am excited to have this tool to offer those that have experienced trauma, as I feel this can be a pillar of hope for trauma survivors.
While my most utilized therapeutic approach is a person-centered and strengths based orientation, I also utilized aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Narrative Therapy.
I truly feel privileged and honored to hear each story that is presented to me, and will walk through the process with you with grace and compassion.
